As I love Paris so much I decided to make a simulation of the wind load on the Eiffel Tower 🗼 using SIMULIA xFlow. The simulation incorporates a full model of the Eiffel Tower and follows predefined boundary conditions. The flow is introduced from the negative X direction and exits the wind tunnel from the positive X direction. The simulation assumes a reference density of 298 Kelvin for the air. Modification I made was to use the non-equilibrium enhance wall model, which is well-suited for external aerodynamics simulations. This model accurately captures the separation of the flow field by properly accounting for pressure gradients. In the visualization, we observe vectors representing the velocity colored by magnitude in the ground . This allows us to observe how the velocity interacts with the tower, resulting in a few recirculation areas. It's important to note that since the wind is coming from the X direction, the effect on the tower is not significant. If the wind were to approach from a different direction. And in surface pressure visualization, which shows areas of high pressure where ,the velocity hits the tower and areas of low pressure at the back. 9moI wanted to support your passion for the Eiffel Tower. I produced this Eiffel Tower in four parts on a 3D printer. I wonder if the model I produced can withstand the wind like in the analysis. 😀 HANEN BDIOUI, CSWE
